The APT Storage product was designed by a team of property management professionals combined with talented, certified architects and licensed engineers after years of extensive industry research and development.
The APT Storage buildings use a panelized structural system that is pre-assembled in our own manufacturing plant. Most models are constructed on an 8′ x 16′ platform (about the size of a parking space), and are approximately 8′ 5″ high. The 128 square foot structures are subdivided into as few as two, or as many as four, individual storage spaces. Each unit includes a private door and locking devices. All APT Storage buildings are waterproof and can withstand winds of up to 90 miles per hour. In addition, we provide quality stainless steel, heavy-duty, disc locks for your residents to secure their items in each storage unit.
The APT Storage buildings come in a variety of floor plans and the individual storage units are always competitively priced for your residents. Monthly rents generally run from $20 to $30 for a 4’x4′; $40 to $50 for a 4’x8′; and $70 to $80 for an 8’x8′.

How much ancillary revenue can my property generate?
Up to 25% of all rent collected under our no-cost revenue sharing program.
Will this type of amenity give my property a competitive edge?
Yes! APT Storage has been a great selling benefit and closing tool for properties in all markets since 2000.
What if I am not satisfied with the program?
APT Storage provides a “90-day guarantee.” If for any reason you are not completely satisfied with our program, we will remove our product at no cost or penalty to you.
Will APT Storage provide promotional materials for our staff to use as an aid in announcing this new amenity to our residents?
Yes! APT Storage provides a full marketing program in order to assist your leasing staff and promote the new amenity!
What length of contract term is offered to the apartment owner? What are the terms for our residents to rent a storage unit?
All of APT Storage’s property/client service agreements have a 12 month term. APT Storage’s lease agreements with your residents are all month-to- month with a 15 day notice to cancel.
Does the apartment community use an addendum to lease to their residents?
No. All residents are under a self storage lease agreement with APT Storage.
Success Stories
The Problem: In April of 2000, one of our property management clients had a real need to provide extra storage for their residents. The demand was so great they were actually losing prospects and rentals because they had no on-site storage at most of their communities.
The Solution: APT Storage delivered two storage buildings custom matched to integrate within the community, and placed them on the common area grounds of their property. Within 48 hours, all of the first eight storage units were leased to their waiting-list of residents! Over the next year, 125 more storage units were delivered to this client in five states!
The Problem: In 2002, many apartment management companies started ancillary revenue divisions to maximize their revenue stream. One large apartment REIT contacted APT Storage to explore its revenue sharing program.
The Solution: The REIT was impressed that no capital was required in order to reap the benefits of the APT Storage program. After the initial success at their first property, they placed APT Storage units throughout their mid-Atlantic regional portfolio!
The Problem: A smaller management company contacted APT Storage when their property manager realized they had lost four potential new residents to a competitor down the street. Their competitor had optional garages. Two of the lost prospects needed secure storage for their motorcycles and the other two were moving from a large home. All these potential new residents wanted storage on-site and wanted it immediately! While the property manager tried to convince the prospects that their property was in a better location and had more amenities, the one “must have” amenity and service, extra storage , was not available.
The Solution: Within weeks, APT Storage solved their problem by adding $50,000 worth of new storage amenities, all at no cost to the property. Best of all, the property leased up quickly. They could now compete with any competitor on all levels!
The Problem: An apartment owner with multiple communities near military bases contacted APT Storage. The lack of extra on-site storage meant that many of their military residents had to go two to three miles to the nearest self-storage facility.
